A Very Happy Birthday to My Sister from Another Continent

I really wanted to try to write or draw something for @doglordoffferelden‘s birthday...alas, the spoons, I do not have them today, like at all.

So I will just say that this fucking dog lord is absolutely amazing and that I’m so lucky to be friends with them. I’m so grateful I followed through on one passing anon that for some reason I just couldn’t let go of and absolutely had to know who sent it, and that turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done, like it was somehow supposed to happen. After that, we’ve been virtually inseparable (notice the double entendre there, ahaha). Despite an ocean in between us, they’ve quickly become one of my closest friends, and you can fucking tell by how much of our days we waste screaming via text (also, though, how fucking cool is the future that we can even do that!). Not even to mention the Facetiming (which my cat fucking loves, by the way) and music and the memes and the god awful teasing about crackfics as well as good fics. One day we’ll meet, too, I swear, and the hugs that shall unfold will be absolutely unreal.

So a very, very happy birthday to my Carver. I love you. <33

thank you...i think how hard this is honestly just solidifies how much i probably need to do this, so...yeah. this is gonna be super rough but now that we’ve figured out the “how” of it i really am just trying to get this out of my system as quickly as humanly possible and then just have it ready (i’m planning for it to be within the next few chapters, though, again because now that the plan is made i want to get everything about this the fuck over with). have a lot of very personally relevant music feels lined up already, too. this is going to be an interesting ride. <33333

What inspired you to write the fic this way?ummmm...i wanted to? ahahaha. i wanted to write this to start with because i fell so hardcore in love with both kaidan and my absolute disaster of a canon shepard, and because i am absolute trash for shepard surviving and getting to be with kaidan after everything, that was a good place to start? i don't even remember how the sylvia plath theme idea started but once i latched onto it, it simply because A THING™ that i had to stick to (and the idea for the theme is actually what led to the title of the fic and not the other way around). but i have a lot of emotions about a lot of things, so... ;)
