Meme: "...." He stares. ".....!" She's definitely asleep, and most definitely alive. He's afraid to touch her, afraid she's not real. He mutters in Russian to himself, and then finally swears at his own foolishness. He's sober and sane, she's definitely real. He reaches out to touch her shoulder, and yeah, she's real. He pushes her gently and rolls her over to make room for himself on the bed. And then he lays down because he's been awake several days in a row and he'll deal with it in the AM.
My muse has been missing and is presumed dead. Your muse comes home to find them asleep in their bed. How do they respond?
Toni stirs when he touches her. She's too scared, too afraid and she can't sleep properly feeling like that, so when he touches her, she immediately opens her eyes. It's Nat. She's safe.
When he lays down next to her, Toni immediately moves to lay closer to him, curling up at his side. She'll explain herself and apologize later. Right now she feels safe, and she falls back asleep quickly.
(Meme) "You're a fucking idiot, you know that? I'm the sturdy one, you're just a ball of squish in a metal suit. And yet you go and /take a goddamn bullet/ for me? What kind of sense does that make? Honestly. You're a goddamn idiot." He's scared so he's talking fast and he's trying to /not/ panic. But she's fucking bleeding from a bullet hole in her leg that was meant for /him/ and while logically he knows it's no where /near/ the femoral artery, it's still fucking scary and he wants to hit her.

Toni can tell how scared Nat is by the way he speaks, too fast and with just the hint of an accent. She feels herself fading from the blood loss and holy shit does it hurt, but she smiles. Or at least Toni thinks she's smiling.
"I've seen you get far too injured way too many times." Toni whispers and she's trembling, leaning against Nat. "I wanted to avoid this one." And really, had Nat gotten shot by that angle, he wouldn't have had the same luck as Toni. She would explain that to him another time, maybe when she's not feeling so weak.
