“Hall, are you-- Hall? ... Ugh.” The fog starts creeping round the piled up carcasses of cars and trucks by the time he’s reached the old familiar junkyard. It’s late, dark and quiet, only a faint crackle of a radio and a few lights still turned on. Because his van has been claimed, he climbs up to sit in an open trunk on the fourth floor. A bot watches him. He looks on as the fog swallows the flicker and a bonfire down below him. He’d been gone for a good long while. Nothing’s changed.

After a few seconds he pulls the map from his bag and shakes his flashlight back to work. His finger trails a way to the coast. He won’t be able to hop zones in time to get to this year’s Halloween beach party. Haunted stranded ships. They’ll be awesome nonetheless, he grins, and pushes his hair out of his face. Maybe he’ll run into @r-d-2019 or his BDF @draculoidmain on the way. Everyone used to be out and about this time of year.
