I think they should have “The Song Remains the Same” instead of “Whole Lotta Love” I mean I’m always saying it’s the perfect song for a roller coaster

I'd have preferred that too tbh, but I imagine when they negotiated with the band, it was like, "Here's what we want to give you." They were originally trying to go for "Stairway to Heaven," but Jimmy Page thought it would be too much of a downer for a coaster cuz it's played at funerals. It is really a wonder they managed to procure the rights to any Zeppelin song for this, if you consider how discerning they are about their music's usage. There's an article on the coaster here.

so lin-tel tagged me in this thing and i'm so sure you all are interested in everything about me ((and also it's raining and i feel this is an excuse to not get out of bed.))

1. Have you ever put a song on repeat for days on end? If so, which song/s?

i'm gonna be really pretentious and say the suite from Petrushka which was last week under the pretext of learning it/writing an analysis when in reality it was so i could watch Alexandre Bloch's sweet ass bounce around the podium for a while (and i have a giant nerdy crush on Stravinsky)

2. If you could be a master of any art form, what would it be?

right now i kind of wish i was more of a master at tuba playing/music making than i am right now but if i had to pick anything else i'd first have to present to you the on going debate amoung scholars of 'What is art?' ...jks i'd pick dance. or martial arts (eyy) something that wasn't sitting in a practise room for hours because not that i mind that (in this weather) my butt gets sore.

3. What’s your reaction upon accidentally breaking something you really like?

Crying. then trying to fix it. Then denial that i can't fix it. Then denial that its actually broken. then crying some more. (most of the stuff i own now is pretty sturdy thanks to my mum's careful assessment of how fucking clumsy i am...)

4. Do you think the time you get up in the morning is relative to how much you’ve got your shit together?

Ha no. i get up at five and let me tell you, i've been confused since birth.

5. Out of the triangle of good grades/social life/sleep, which two do you usually pick?

social life and sleep. Because in the fantastic world of music, most of the time my social life is my grades (e.g. i went out for coffee with my tutor and he gave me an A...i feel dirty)

6. What tv shows are you watching atm? I need some recommendations.

my flatmate is american and incredibly opinionated and a bit of a dick, but he's gotten me into all these political dramas that go way over my head because i'm don't even know whose the prime minister of the country i currently live in but you know. Political Animals is good - it's a little soap-opera-y which works for me (Sebastian Stan and gay sex scenes. What more can you want.) Also, we just finished watching Firefly (Ahh!)

7. If you live at home, do you want to move out, and if so, why? If you’ve left home, do you miss it?

i was talking about this with my flatmate earlier! i moved out as soon as i could - i had just always known that i was going to move out at eighteen no matter what. i think that was the closest thing to a plan for the future that i've ever had. I miss it sometimes, but i don't think i could move back in hey. Although i do get so sick of my flatmates sometimes...

8. Are human beings fundamentally selfish?

yes. But we have to be, isn't that self preservation? although i guess there's a difference between looking after yourself to survive and actively being selfish beyond that.

9. Are the answers to the questions humanity asks (about death, suffering, love etc) to be found in the past or the future or not at all?

~They are to be found in your heart~ haha that's deep bro. I don't know. Who really wants all the answers anyway? **insert slightly blurry picture of me looking melancholy and out the window of a train**

10. What does your favourite mug look like and why is it your favourite?

It looks like this and it's my favourite because it's the biggest mug we own. More mug = more tea. win.

11. Do you have a song that you associate with one of your favourite memories of all time?

All i can think of right now is 'Steal the Light' by the cat empire because that was just a great night/weekend (and felix said i was pretty) and it was my jam through the second half of last year which was pretty fantastic

Oh this is nothing you should've seen my posts when I first found out about it. I'm not the person he should have fucked over to put it lightly, if I ever see him again he is not walking away with all of his teeth, nor a straight nose. He's also probably going to lose the ability to reproduce if I ever see his face again.

wow that's crazy; are you close with him?

as a matter of fact, no im not actually! i mean we did the usual playdate stuff when we were little kids but as we grew older we never really had a connection. i'm pretty close with his older sister though.
