There was a long silence between the two of them it seemed like it lasted for over an hour but in reality it was only maybe five to ten minutes. Stevie had lost all thought process the moment he opened up the envelope and sat down at the kitchen table, just staring at the words that were typed on the paper. It was a college acceptance letter with great news of course but none the less it was an emotional rollercoaster zipping around in his head. Until--Anya’s soothing voice awoke him from the trance he was in, after those words she had spoke it was almost as if Stevie’s ability to move had kickstarted. A small smile formed from the corner of his mouth, tears blurring his vision.
“It’s almost as if you read my mind. You sure you don’t have any super powers?” He smirked and allowed one hand to free its hold on the paper and extend outward to brush against Anya’s warm cheek, allowing it to rest there as he admired the woman he had grown to fall for. “It’s like you know exactly what to say to make me instantly happy. I will miss you so much!” Stevie sighed and dropped the letter in front of Anya so she could see the ‘accepted’ in the first few paragraphs.
