To say that Thomas was unexpected would be half a truth and half a lie. Of course, to have found out that she had become pregnant once again, blessed with a life within her was of a great happiness, but of a small fear. Annabelle had been born healthily with fewer complications due to preparations undertaken by Mugetsu himself. Little had she known he had done such a thing, nevertheless she was grateful for his concern and discretion. But as the passing of their first born's 1st Birthday, she could only harness on the feelings upon being alone for ten years before her own little brother was born. She hadn't wanted such emotions to ripple through her daughter. After discussing it with her fiancée, it was decided that in time, of course, their family would extend but not as suddenly as a late wintry August, where what seemed to have been a nauseated breakfast turned out to be something much more of a surprise - as well as a late birthday present for Mu.
Both were astoundingly happy about the news, naturally. Around her third month in, where her rounded bundle had begun forming quite well, her mother had called in to see her progress upon hearing the news. After a few questions about her own appearance, her mother was more than certain she was having a baby boy. Within their beliefs and culture, it is said that when a child unborn takes away their mothers beauty by leaving behind a look of tiredness and presented itself within her stomach in an oval like shape, it was he who would take his mothers beauty and make an appearance in the world. Laughing, she had told Mu sleepily within the night before his soft hummings lulled her to sleep.
Annabelle had grown an enormous amount of curiosity (which was often natural for a one year old), and was often found sitting within her fathers lap as she was shown baby pictures of herself. She often pointed at the picture of a baby within her picture book and then towards her mothers stomach, which earned an amused nod from both her parents. Having a rocking chair ordered and made by Mu on her birthday right by her blooming balcony within the summer days, time seemed to have passed by quickly and she was little more than a handful of months away. Her ultrasounds were showing a healthy baby boy, kicking as her mother described - something her little one had inherited from her baby brother.
Wanting to be better prepared than she had been for her first pregnancy, she had conveyed to her love that she wished to be admitted into a maternity ward a week before Thomas was due. Understanding her wish, he had agreed with grace. However, Thomas seemingly had heard her mother and had decided to pay an earlier visit than expected, and had kicked his way down at 36 weeks, ready to be born and out of his mothers stomach. It had given her a fright when the contractions first began and had quickly called Mr. Kisuke to tell Mugetsu (who had been out chocolate-icecream hunting) that she was taking herself and Annabelle to the hospital, and explaining the reasons behind her motives.
Laughing through the pain as a rushed Mu came in with a panic stricken face, she had simply told him the worst of the contractions were only just beginning. As their little one was so eager to come into the world, the birth had gone smoothly and was soon introduced with a crying shrill after 5 hours of the contractions. Having being the first one to hold her child within her arms, she couldn't help but notice the comparison between his father and his being were more than astonishing - to which she was glad. Dulled, sleepy crimson eyes peered at her curiously before the smallest of yawns was made. A curled up fist laying against the nape of her neck, it was then she nodded at her love for his name.
Born healthily, Thomas Shyam Kurosaki came into the world.
