Which of your OC’s would you most want to spend a day with?

If we're just hanging out at home playing games or watching movies, Ria. especially watching movies, which we'd have closer tastes in. Her games would be much more competitive than mine, but I'd watch her play at least. Unless it was fighting games; I'd join in for some Tekken or MK.

If we're going out to lunch or something, I'd say possibly Kaela, since she's cheerful without being overbearing while still being good and chatty.

13. How do you feel right now?

Tired. Hot (the weather has been pretty warm here). My anxiety has been acting up lately but generally feel ok.

25. Role model?

My grandmother. She was the best person I knew. I miss her.

How To Train Your Dragon, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Pride and Prejudice, Thumbelina, Pirates of the Caribbean (first 3 films), The Princess Bride, Blade, Tombstone, Scream, Romeo + Juliet (too many movies)

What's your OC's biggest fuck up? What skill does your OC need to work on improving?

What's your OC's biggest fuck up?

Fun question! Like many of my characters (and myself XD ) Helena is definitely harder on herself than she need to be, so I suspect she would probably have a laundry list of potential answers to this question, but the truth is, going back through her liveblog thus far, I'm having trouble identifying anything that really stands out as a fuckup moment.

I guess off the top of my head, one thing that might qualify is her almost surrendering to Elgar'nan's mind control during Blood of Arlathan. It was a great character moment, but if Bellara and Neve hadn't been able to break through, things would have gone very, VERY badly.

What skill does your OC need to work on improving?

Basically all of Helena's struggles as a leader come from her discomfort with difficult conversations and tough emotions, which she always handles with a veneer of humor unless she actively forces herself not to. So she really needs to work on improving her comfort with that - and to her credit, she has been in the later scenes of the game. This has definitely turned out to be a major facet of her overall arc as a character and I've been enjoying seeing her progress in this regard. :D

A Day of Rest is fundamentally just a gift for @astreamofstars since she and I have been talking and headcanoning together a bunch about Jaheira and Rasaad's relationship and Rion's birth and early childhood. It's a bit of Jaheira/Rasaad E-rated fluff, set after the first night that Rion sleeps through the night after a tempestuous first few months of infancy, and it's very self-indulgent. XD

IDK if it will actually make it to AO3, although if enough other folks express interest in seeing it, perhaps I will post it. XD

He has always been extraordinary in firelight, she thinks. Perhaps some would not see it as she does, would see only the lines of age and not the experience and pain and love they represent, fifty years of it laid between them the stones in a long and weathered road. But she knows… and she sees him, all of him, stocky and sturdy and muscular and clear-eyed and devastatingly, tantalizingly close… And for once they have slept, they can remember that they are not only parents but people who breathe and think and feel…

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?

Most of Hector's early education at the monastery involved learning emotional self-control, martial arts, and scribing. I think he probably often had to get some deliberate encouragement to focus on his martial arts training when he wanted to have his nose in a book; he's always been a bit of a nerd. :P

13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

H) What trait do you admire most?

Hm. I think I admire Hector's courage. He does not consider himself a brave person - and in fact spends most of BG3 terribly freaked out, especially in the early game - but he nevertheless perseveres enough to save the whole damn world. It would have been real easy for him to stick his head in the sand, but he didn't and emerges stronger for it. :)
