Nightmares.
Lain sat up in a cold sweat. It had been years since she last had dreams that bad. The only thing that had woke her up was the sound of things crashing around her. She couldn't breathe, fear still gripping her throat. But it wasn't over yet. Because even though she thought she was awake she was still dreaming. Thrashing around in the bed scared out of her mind of what she heard... smelt... and saw.
Lain and Duncan
"Could be wetter." he pointed out.
"True." Lain smiled as she drove them to the office.
Once there, Duncan was thankful for the sheltered parking and led the way to Fury’s office.
As they stood in the elevator waiting to head to his office, Lain looked to Duncan. "So not gonna lie, but I'm a bit nervous."

Lain rolled over and smiled seeing who was there with her. She propped herself up on her elbow while pushing some of his hair out of his face. "Hey, Duncan, wake up." She sad softly.

"I'm in tactical logistics and Ina is in research. Anything you need, just ask. You freed our grandfather from a Hydra base back in World War Two. He used to tell us stories about you. I ended up in the SAS and Ina in the air force, I guess his stories had a far reaching effect." he chuckled. "If he could see us now..."

"Hullo, I've been anxious to meet ya, Cap'in." Duncan said with a smile, his Scottish accent thick. "I'm Agent Duncan MacRae. The mouthy Scottish woman running around SHIELD is my sister. It's an honour Sir."
