Well, we did the thing.
So the-uterus and I are engaged...
And some people asked - who proposed to whom? How did the engagement go? Well, here’s explaining it, plus some backstory.
So, Helena and I have known we’re gonna get married. I had always said, “I’m not gonna be the one to propose because I have really crippling anxiety.” And it’s like really bad, to the point where I’m even afraid to be romantic. I was afraid I’d have an asthma attack.
But I had a dream one night about marriage - granted, it was chickens getting married - but it was a good enough sign for me. I would be the one to do it because I realized I was going to have anxiety over when she was going to ask ME.
I had a plan to ask her on September 1st - since the 1st is a significant date for us (we started dating on February 1st). I was going to tie the ring to my puppy’s collar. But I was afraid he was going to eat it (he manages to chew on his tags).
So last night, I took Helena to the roof of my college’s parking garage to watch the meteor shower. I was on the fence of whether I’d her because the ring hadn’t come in the mail yet. But when we were up there, watching the stars, talking, the moment seemed right. So I asked her, right there. She said yes. I thought she was going to cry.
Now we’re engaged. It’s gonna be a long engagement - at least a year, maybe more - to get our shit together and save money for the wedding and stuff. I might make a side blog for wedding details, etc. I’ll let you know.
We were waiting in line so I made the-uterus model for me
