🌻💚Today is a very special day for me in particular...it's officially been 10 years since I first created the very first OC to stick around the longest, Velva! 💚🌻

Of course I can't say she's the first character I've ever made, even if I can't remember the ones before her, I know Velva wasn't my very first creation. But even after all this time, she holds a lot of special meaning to me. It's not just a character birthday, or an anniversary, but this is an achievement. Not only does this achievement that mark a very early point in my art hobby that I still do to this day, but it marks just how far I've come since I was 11 (crazy right?! this makes me feel old). It's when I really started to take art seriously and dedicate big portions of my life to it.

In a way Velva was a character that was meant to be the kinds of friends I didn't have in my life at the time irl, someone goofy, caring, supportive. I got super lonely in middle school until about the 7th-8th grade. When big things happen in my life, I know making characters or a story is gonna cheer me right up. And that really all started with my sona, and Velva. She's always gonna be the BFF to my sona cause in a way Velva has been through so much with me. I never plan on replacing her for the world :3

Her alongside some of my other OCs (like Derpy, Ice, Cellcia, and Sprite) I made all those years ago really sparked those creative juices in me and have most likely led you to see me today, which...hi! I'm glad you're reading this. Some or most of you might not really know my older OCs like Velva. But I appreciate you tuning in and liking my art, despite me getting busier and busier in this sad reality that is being an adult.

I know I'm getting real sappy over a fictional character and my art but it's MY fictional character and art dammit!

Thank you for listening to my ted talk, and for the support. I hope to make many more art pieces forevermore in the future and I'll probably be just as shocked when Velva turns 20, so cheers for her! Happy 10th anniversary/birthday, Velva!

Back in the ol Miiverse days long ago, I used to ship my OC Velva with Larry Koopa, to kinda match what I did with shipping my sona with Ludwig. I haven't touched this concept like, IN YEARS. So I finally had the two reunite, both are much more mature since they last saw each other.

Larry may still have lingering feelings, but he and Velva are friends once again ^^

Originally just another Mii I can play as in Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, a ship with Larry Koopa, it’ssss Velva! Mah first OC! These are just some super old doodles on her that I can find digitally, I’m sure I can find more but she’s basically the green Luigi to...Marley’s...Mario? lmao She’s a shy gal and always had that signature wavy lasagna hair, most of the time. She was always hanging around my self insert, usually getting into shenanigans. Also I played Tomodachi Life a lot :3

I think the thing I love the most about these pictures now was probably how I was slowing down on purpose in the race just to be around the CPU that was driving around as Ludwig :’) Thus why I finished in 8th place lmao
