Self worth. It was a relief, to discover you, hiding behind a screen, and when I pulled it away, you shrugged. Everything, has its place, healing has its place, happiness, sadness, forgiveness, madness. It’s okay to be sad, it’s okay to be angry, at the world, at yourself, at them, it’s okay to not be okay, to not be making the progress you think you should be. Don’t let people tell you how to feel. Don’t guilt yourself into believing them, don’t listen to them say you’re too stubborn. Don’t listen to their good intentions. Nobody can tell you who you are, only what they see, only the symptoms of the trauma in your heart, the lingering shadows of the past. Nobody should have the right to make you feel like less. Ever. And if you ever do, make sure your alarm bell is fixed, and when it goes off, run, run the other way. When you’re ready, unpack how you feel, but never in the company of the people that tried to tell you who you are. They’ll only confuse you.

Even the coldest hearts will yearn for love. How scarred we all are. To want, to desire, possess, hurt, cherish, forgive.

Kick open the door and shatter these walls, I don’t want to stay anymore, Earth wrenching force, ground green and dark Sky blue, grey earth dear world… rain, rain on me, intense and dark, heavy heart, again… take me apart.

These moments when you’re lost, when you’re here and you’re not, when you’re lifting off the ground, your heart aching in your hands, reach deep into yourself and find the strength to be kind. Find it. Because, my dear… my friend… you gotta be kind to yourself. Don’t look for it in someone else, don’t look for anything. Don’t look for understanding, don’t look for love, don’t look at all. It’s not there. But you, you’re here. And you need to believe in yourself.

There will come a time you will stop running. There will come a time you will stop fearing. The world will bloom and fade and everything will come again. Let it. Let it in. Smile at the blue skies, yellow light falling on green trees, the touch of Winter seeping into your cheek and the warmth of your body heat encased in earth coloured coats. We’re dying, all of us. Nothing matters except the way you see the world and the choices you make… in every little thing, you have a choice. Sadness… it is poetic… but it is also existence at its most painful. Don’t stay there. There are better things to come, allow yourself, let yourself, forgive yourself. Be kind to yourself.

Winter, in her thrall, Ice cold hands slipping over mine, Pale cheek kissed by the heat of a Summer long gone, All remains, is frost, Silent stunning gorge Mountains in her grasp, Hearts frozen in ice, and love… love… soft love locked away… I will find you again.

Mornings and gold dust sprinkled in the air, Tender and cold, Winter’s breath, a pale whisper across your skin, Heat… droplets… finding paths down your arms mirror misted and thoughts disturbed by last nights dreams, fragments of scenes briefly consumed… did not spare the troubled mind.
