So really quickly I want to get into the psychology of this au. Max would literally receive no physical contact from a human which means that if he would potentially become desperate from anything that could give him attachment (including the companion cube). I was also thinking that if he was reintroduced to society he would struggle to not cling to those he's attached to/be starved of affection to the point any is better than none.

I love this?! What I’ve seen so far is people writing him being really wary of other people after the events of the AU, but I LOVE the idea of Max being so starved for attention that he CLINGS to people?? It makes a lot of sense too, since he’d probably want HUMAN interaction in contrast to robots.

Max isn’t really an affectionate person to begin with, so it would be interesting to see for that reason as well. Would he be reluctant to ask for the attachment and affection (you know, his normal personality being all ‘fuck off and give me my space’) or would he just not care? And would it depend on how much he needs it?
