Long weekend for the @church_of_petrolheads ! First opening of the Tepui Roof Top Tent and new brake calipers and pads on The Armadeuce. It would have been done 30 minutes faster if I didn't forget to put the aluminum slider brackets on the caliper (after it was all put together and wheel on). Haha Rookie Mistake. Fluids changed and topped off. Oil change and fluid topped off on the Mongrel. Again, would have been done sooner if I didn't buy the wrong oil filter! Why is it that whenever you call for a tow, its never simple, its never easy, its never on time and its never a good experience? Worked on the Armadeuce for 6 hours and then called it quits. Picked up a second free load of landscape rocks today. This one required 4x4 action, but the landscape was beautiful! Photos are of the guy's house with the freebies. Hoover lake is low so that is a dry lake bed behind the SUV. Used the Armada to haul some freebies last night. 102 blocks free. Same guy, is allowing me to come back today to pick up another 80 for free from a fire ring. The guy was a family man in the process of updating the house. He is a firefighters and we talked about all sorts of stuff, including trauma and suicide. This lead to conversation about Saveawarrior.org as well, which he has heard of due to his battalion chief, who supports the organization! I was looking to finally start building my backyard and I am planning to start with a fire pit, outdoor lounge and social area. So the Armadeuce doesn't get much love on here since its the daily driver. Last night I robbed Peter to pay Paul. I took the too modern but amazing Hella Fog Lights off the Mongrel (RX7) and replaced the oem fogs on the SUV. The oem fogs look great but had poor light projection and I struggled to keep bulbs working in them (both halogen or leds). So it took about an hour total to pull and swap them. Finished it just as a quick downpour fell on me. 😉 Drove across the street to check projection and to aim them. I couldn't be more happy with the cheap and free results!
