It's been 17 years today since I first drove her home. Back in November 2004, after my combat tour in Iraq, I ordered Karizma brand new to the specs I wanted. It took 4 months for her to be built, shipped overseas and to arrive in Ohio. On March 4th, 2005, the keys were in my hand. In the years that follow, she became an outlet of anger, frustration, depression, adrenaline, solitude, peace and countless other emotions. She became the place of peace from C-PTSD, an tool for express anger and frustration, a shelter from an overwhelming world, and finally, the symbol of my healing and outreach. She has stuck with me longer than any relationship, opened doors to many amazing opportunities and created personal bonds unlike any other. What will the next 17 years hold? Who knows but I cannot wait to find out.
