Join us this Saturday, January 11 at 1:30 for the next meeting of the Creative Geometry Study Group Kelly Beekman an artist and educator will be introducing us to the Saturn Seal designed by Rudolf Steiner. This form is made from a heptagon (a seven sided figure) the attached image shows the underlying structure. Everyone is encouraged to bring a 12 inch ruler and a good quality compass as drawing a seven division can be tricky so more accurate drawing tools will make the work easier. This form is the beginning of 7 seals designed by Rudolf Steiner which represents the 7 days of the week, the 7 ancient planets, the metals, etc. we will be meeting Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30 in Chelsea at Anthoposophy NYC 138 West 15th Street New York Website www.asnyc.org (212) 242-8945 These projects will be accessible to those with all levels of drawing experience We will be meeting in a beautiful sunny room generously provided by the New York Anthroposophical society (we are requesting a $5 contribution from everyone to cover the use of the space) Please bring a compass, ruler, paper, and pencils, additional materials that could be useful include; colored pencils, watercolors and some paper at least 8 1/2” x 11” We will have some extra supplies for people who need them. the Creative Geometry Study Group will continue to meet once a month to draw geometric patterns inspired by various traditions from around the world. Everyone is invited to share what they are working on and bring examples of their own work to show with the group.
