The students had a friday treat today when they were suprised by our special guest @huriyehemati. She taught the students how to make wig cages! It was the Elizabethan and Jacobean’s that pushed the concept of raising the #hair with #padding and wire to over emphasis the exaggerated look. Adding pork fat and powder would help too! Luckily our wonderful #wigtutorial skipped this part!! Full Steam ahead * 

We at the Make-up Mill love using something every day for something not so every day. For example, got a scruffy synthetic wig that needs a bit of love and attention? Needs that spring but back in its curl? Well this handy little hand steamer may be just what you need.

Set your synthetic wig in curls or waves as you would for a wet set on human hair to be baked, but instead this time set it dry with a little setting spray and then simply steam each curl into shape. Leave to fully dry out, preferably over night or longer if possible and once you remove your set that old synthetic wig will look picture perfect for your leading lady. 

Our top tip... we even found that the steam helps knock out that super shiny sheen that some synthetic wigs have. Which is great when you don’t have the budget for a human hair wig but you want it to look real! 

We love the ‘Pro Breeze’ Steamer as it is lightweight and you can steam a minimum of 3 wigs, filling up only once. It is also a great price and the perfect size for your kit! 

So full steam ahead on those synthetics towards a super sleek destination.
