I have been waiting since June for the opportunity to introduce Klaus Haagen to you. It was the 3rd and final day at a handmade show, and I was scurrying around trying to get all my orders placed with the artists that I had met. I looked up, and there was Klaus! I’m not sure how I had missed his handmade candles. They are cool, and contemporary, and different from other candles that I’ve seen. So, being the spontaneous person that I am; Absolute Gallery just received everything that I selected. Wait till you see these candles! Here is Klaus’s background story: Starting out as a mechanical engineer in Austria, Klaus Haagen had no idea that he would one day be applying his expertise from manufacturing metal and steel products to creating contemporary candles. With an eye for geometric shapes, colors and textures, and influenced by Europe’s visionary artistry and quality craftsmanship, by 2006 Klaus solely devoted himself to designing one-of-a-kind candles in the United States. He works in his own studio which combines the quality control of his handmade candles and the opportunity to create candle art using shapes, sizes and jewel-tone-colors. He is inspired by customers who appreciate stepping out of the accelerating comet of life into an oasis of atmosphere, art and candlelight. And, even better he now lives in Bloomington, Indiana. #absolute_gallery #absolutegallery #oldtownlansing #lovelansing #indieme #acre_shows #madeinusa #madeinamerica #theaustrianatelier #austrian #madeinindiana #madeinbloomington #handpouredcandles #contemporarycandles #klaushaagen #handmade #handmadecandles (at Absolute Gallery)
