     James had been in this mysterious city for a few days now and had decided that it wasn’t as bad as he first thought it was. It reminded him of a memory Spock Prime had sent him when they had met.. It was highly likely that if he stayed around long enough, his crew would show up. They had to be looking for him. He was the best captain in the Fleet!

     James wandered down some streets, trying to get himself to be more familiarized with the area. It seemed like any other city. Most people didn’t pay attention to the others, even if they looked out of place. His kind of place.

     While in thought, James went a bit further than the places he was familiar with in the city. He sighed softly. Of course that would happen. He looked around, catching sight of a female that wasn’t standing very far away. He waved his hand to catch her attention.

“Hey! Excuse me!”

Going with Alfred hadn’t been the worst idea, but it hadn’t been the best either. Edward’s erstwhile ‘friend’ had abandoned him for the snack table, and as he watched Alfred pig out at the chocolate fountain, it struck him that he really should have asked Dollie. Sure, the girl was a nuisance, but at least she was a half-decent conversationalist.

He spotted a red-headed woman who was clinging to the wall as much as he was, and moved towards her. He waved, trying to catch her attention.

Once he caught sight of her face, it took him a minute, but he realised it wasn’t Dahlia. He stood there, awkwardly, for a moment.

“I’m sorry, I thought you were-” he began, and then stopped. Something about the woman’s face seemed familiar, even if he didn’t recognise her. Had he talked to her? 

“Have... we met?” he said. He squinted, trying to figure out where he’d seen her face before. “Because I ... I could swear I know you from somewhere.”

skeletons in the closet?

Only a moment ago, Sybil was just walking down the hallway, minding her own business, expecting to see anything but a skeleton as she turned the next corner. Then she just so happened to walk directly into one.

After a moment’s worth of panicked thoughts ran through her head, she realized that it was not, in fact, the bones of some poor, long-dead soul come to haunt her from beyond the grave, but rather a science classroom’s plastic replica. She took a step back, her usual cool, collected demeanor having lapsed for only a brief second.

Now that there wasn’t a classroom display staring her down, Sybil could get a good look at the woman who had been wheeling the skeleton down the hallway. Presumably, she had been on her way to deliver the skeleton to a classroom; Sybil guessed she was a teacher. If the name badge pinned to her jacket  wasn’t a giveaway, it was the focused, intent air she had about her.

“Oh, hello! Sorry for almost knocking down your friend there. For a science class, I assume?”

“We should probably get you examined right away then. Or maybe my ears. I probably didn’t hear you right.”

“What, do you need me to repeat it?”

“Did you hear me say no, Mulder?”  She tuts.

“Some investigator you are.”

“Then you asked for it!” he wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up off her feet. Truthfully, he’d been wanting to do that since she’d arrived.

“It’s only because you’re so cold.” he said.
