Hello. I have the Sims 3 for Mac and after I try and patch my game it either says there is an error or it says nothing and then when I reopen the launcher it says I have a patch to download again. I saw someone else had written to you about this and you said to download super patcher and gave a link to a forum... but none of the links for the regions to download the super patcher work. I would like to patch my game but I don't know what to do now. Thanks! :)
Hello! I tried downloading from a couple of links provided on this EA Help page and they all seemed to be working. Don't hesitate to contact us again if you're still having problems.
I've written to you guys earlier about my game (Season on a Mac) crashing and the music being faster and higher pitched the next time I start the game after it crashing. I've figured out when it happens. It happens every time I try to adjust any game setting. For example, I wanted to shorten the seasons, and after I resumed the game it crashed and said error would you like to debug it? Another time I tried to adjust my sims Free Will setting and it did the same thing after. Any clues? Lol
The Exception Raised error is like Mac's version of a crash/error and it is hard to figure out what is causing it because it could be a number of things. Off the top of my head I just do not know why changing your settings would cause this. I did find this thread at the EA Mac Support forums. There are some suggestions on how to "fix" it. Some think it is related to custom content? I don't know if you have any but it does not hurt to try and remove it and see if you still have a problem.
Hello I have 2 questions about Seasons! First, I bought my sims umbrellas, which they use when it's raining yet they still get a soaked moodlet. Any clue why? Second, why does lightning always strike my camera view when I'm zoomed out? It's actually scares me sometimes! Lol It's been rainy everyday in my game so this stuff is getting tedious! Thanks!
My sims are pretty slow putting up their umbrella's and usually end up soaked as well. If they stand out in the rain without the umbrella up, even if it is briefly, they will get soaked. It is hard to say if that is just part of gameplay or if it is a mod interfering with your game etc, but know that I experience the same thing sometimes.
We got this reply here at SimsFAQ:
ladyknuckles said: I know why anon gets the soaked moodlet. After a while the umbrella starts to break down.
I didn't think of this but it is true, that umbrellas fall apart in game, and pretty quickly too, so make sure their umbrella is in good shape.
Lightening strikes every time you are zoomed out? That is not part of normal gameplay :D It seems like your weather might be looping. Try "unsticking" it by using this cheat, testingcheatsenabled true. With that on, right click on the ground near your house and you can change the weather. Change it to sunny and hopefully that will get your weather to be a little more varied.
I recently got Seasons for my Mac and I played last night. But as I was playing today it closed and said there was an error and asked if I wanted to debug it. Now when I play the music is higher pitched and sped up. Any clue why? Thanks!
Sorry you are having issues. I honestly am drawing a blank about why your music would be higher and faster. I would recommend you ask EA Support.
As for the error, we answered a similar question here and here.
