I haven’t had a chance to really look into it. I did watch the video though, and it seems like they are exposing some nasty cover-ups from the last few years. If I’m being completely honest I think the involvement of some of the big names is a stretch. For example, in some cases it was not the politician themselves but a close relative that was using offshore accounts, etc. which might be hypocritical depending on who the politician is, but is ultimately, legally, not the politician’s fault. It’s a strategic, planned leak and it will have an impact on the international community and I’m interested to see what that impact is (hopefully, stricter legal guidelines and more transparency where offshore accounts and tax evasion are concerned) but I think that’s the best we can hope for. The original post I saw claimed “Vladmir Putin could get arrested” which just seems like an exaggeration to me… I don’t think the ICC is going to get him on tax evasion (although it would be pretty funny if they did.  A la Al Capone). I doubt there are going to be significant legal consequences for most of those involved. Maybe for that one corporation they named. Maybe they’ll just all have to pay their taxes now.

Mainly, I think the big names that were called out in this leak are going to have a lot to do to maintain their public images over the next few months. That’s what the leak did: As far as I can tell, it basically just exposed that some extremely rich people are using questionable and potentially criminal methods to evade paying their taxes. We’ll see if any of them actually go to court. Who knows.
