The Fleur de Lys Tiara by Ansorena that you just posted is so interesting--the swooping designs on the sides almost looks like script. Do you know of any tiaras that use letters/writing as a design element?

The one that pops into my mind is Queen Rania of Jordan’s Arabic Script Tiara.  She only wore it twice but it’s easily the most beautiful of her tiaras.  It was made by Yan Sicard of FRED in 2005 and I believe the script says something along the lines of  “only Allah is great” or “Allah is greater than everything” but I’m not positive.  I think it’s a common phrase in Islamic calligraphy.  Please jump in if you know more.

If Kaiju can recognize words, that got me thinking: are there reptiles that use sound-based communication on a complexity level comparable to mammals or birds? Crocodiles maybe? I've been trying to think of any reptiles I've ever heard make noise, and other than crocs/gators, and a screaming leopard gecko, I'm not personally familiar with any. Do any of those lizards with the colorful throat pouches make noise, like a frog does?

Crocodilians definitely have the most complex vocal communications, what with their fantastic subsonic booming and the hurgling, but leachies are super vocal and not at all shy about talking to you!

So, you're a person who knows about all kinds of weird bug stuff, right? Because, I swear I remember hearing somewhere about a kind of wasp or hornet that would make a so-called honey-like substance out of meat or meat juices that it had eaten, and store it in its nest like bees stored honey? Yet I can't seem to find any evidence of this by googling. Could this be a real thing, or is it likely I'm misremembering some other wasp fact? I'd love to know if you're aware of anything like this.

They’re sometimes called “vulture bees” but it really is difficult as hell to find any information or photos of them.

This might be a photo of them eating what’s left of a lizard, but there’s no source or confirmation of the species.

They’re true social bees, like honeybees, and completely stingless. I think there are three species in the group and they’re the only fully meat-eating bees out there.They work the meat into gunk the same way other bees make honey, and spit it into their egg chambers. No word on what it tastes or smells like but probably not good and probably not safe, either
