A fabulous splash of colour on Bridge Road, Richmond. Ladyboy is a Thai gem that brings a fusion of flavour and frivolity. The interior is a visual feast of colour, neon and large scale artworks. Out the back an eclectic mix of parasols, shipping crates and other knick knacks hang from the ceiling, creating a theatrical and quirky drinking space. The food reflects this fun with an explosion of Thai flavours. As suggested we enjoyed a range of different sized dishes. For entrée we went a little pork crazy with a helping of betel leaves with roasted pork belly and a serve of crispy pork hock with a black vinegar caramel. For main we shared massaman lamb curry with kipfler potato and a side of organic brown rice. The drinks list is peppered with South east asian influences. I had a deliciously refreshing Gin Tipple. Served in a highball glass, the muddled lemongrass and house-grown kaffir lime leaves with beefeater gin, lemon & barley syrup and soda makes it a perfect choice for any gin lover.
