Apologies, I’ve neglected this space for a awhile. Most of my creative energy has gone to my personal projects (excuses, excuses). Gehenna: Death Valley is almost complete!
I’ve just realized that by next August, I’ve spent ten years as an artist alley vendor, selling my art and comics in Southwestern and Eastern Ontario. Most of those shows have been in Toronto.
Yep. That long. I must be a pro at this, right?
Nope. Not even close....or it feels like I still have a lot to learn. I haven’t even gone to a comiccon in the States yet! In that ten year timeframe, I’ve seen the market shift more than once, and every show, every comiccon, is a different experience. Even the cities have their own market — the Toronto crowd is very different from the Ottawa crowd, for example.
And every year, I rebook at least a couple of comicons. I love doing this. The socialization, networking, selling my creations to people, and watch them connect with a book or a piece of art...these experiences make it worthwhile.
Do I have something planned for my ten year anniversary? Maybe, maybe not...I may write more about my experiences in comiccon world (no dirt though, unless I experience a show that sucked for everyone). We’ll see.
Show’s open! Ready for Niagara Falls ComicCon ✍🏻💪🏻
Get your fill of the creepy at Booth 23!
Day 13: “Thursday the Thirteenth…the day that changed my life forever”.
…And I thought yesterday’s theme was hard 😑(yeah, I could’ve drawn Jason, but there’s enough of him + Thursday the 13th/Friday the 12th jokes everywhere online).
Experimental TMNT sketch cover and commission 3 (Demogorgon 2.0). Not sure if the TMNT/Junji Ito mashup is going to work….🤔
…So is commission 2!
Commission 1 complete.
