I received an advanced reader copy of The Better Liar from Ballantine Books/Random House Publishing Group via NetGalley, in return for my honest opinion. The Better Liar by Tanen Jones is a story about secrets and deceit. Robin Voight left home ten years ago, leaving behind her sister Leslie. Now married and a mother, Leslie, has spent the past decade caring for her sick father. When her father dies, Leslie is stunned to learn the stipulations of his will- Leslie and Robin will only receive their inheritance together. When Leslie finally tracks Robin down, she finds that Robin has recently passed away. Desperate to receive her inheritance, Leslie convinces stranger, Mary, to impersonate her sister. As Mary helps Leslie deceive her husband and her father’s lawyer, she realizes that Leslie hasn’t been truthful with Mary either. Will Mary be able to help Leslie, before all her secrets are exposed?
