The Lost by: James Patterson
*Clears throat* Hello all, back again with another book report. I’d just like to start off with the usual updates. There’s nothing new on the whole co-host idea. Still have yet to figure that out; But for those who like to read ink and paper rather than pixels and LCD screens I’m going to be posting links from amazon where you can buy physical copies of these books as well as the google play links where you can get e-books. One final note, I recently visited a thrift store and got FOUR of the “Alex Cross” books by James Patterson so I can’t wait to read those and share them with you as I said before I want to see if Mr.Patterson’s style shifts from series to series or stays the same throughout.
First let me start by saying this was an excellent addition to the series, but it doesn’t feel like the final book. There isn’t anything that gives it that “finale feeling”. I mean yeah there was a big and epic ending, but there has been one of these types of endings for each and every one of the “Witch and Wizard” series books. It feels kind of like the end of another episode. So I believe that there may be another book coming out for this series that hasn’t been announced yet. I suppose we’ll just leave this alone for now, considering Patterson has other series he needs to write as well.
The Lost was an excellent story which involved more political/sociological elements as both Whit and Wisty (more or less Whit) struggle with the people they call neighbors and also struggle with themselves. For if they want to help other people, they must first learn to accept who they are and understand that their powers aren’t “evil”. Also there’s another big bad leader coming back into play who starts small, not event noticeable. Then with the help of an old enemy, he stirs the pot a little. This either will bring the siblings together, or drive them farther apart.
The structure of the story itself was spot on! I couldn’t find anything wrong with it (and believe me I tried). Patterson has completely built this series from the ground up and now it has reached its peak of perfection. Although due to foul language and plenty of violence I would probably rather have someone who is old enough to be trusted to handle that type of stuff read this book. That’s all folks.
