'Lived long enough to become the villain'
Molly put on her Miss Kitty sunglasses to watch the mushroom cloud burst in the horizon. Tenpenny Tower really was gorgeous, and the rooms she’d bought for her family were spacious and luxurious enough that it had won over her Mom’s original misgivings. The fact that a lot of the residents were loaded and were happy to invest in her business helped. Greatly. But, Molly thought, it was the view that really took the cake.
“Well now, how about that. You don’t see that every day, do you sweetheart?” spoke Mr. Burke as Mr. Tenpenny (she still accidentally called him Mr. Tennypenny sometimes, but he thought it was endearing) whooped in excitement. It had been Mr. Burke who had contracted her for the job and had conviced Mr. Tennypenny that one ghoul would be fine, especially one as safe as Molly’s Mom. All it had taken was a book on explosives that Molly had discreetly studied for a couple hours and the job was done. She had the caps, the nice wonderful new home and a boatload of potential customers and investors. But still, that’s not why she detonated the nuke in the heart of Megaton. It was a little heartless, but it simply good business. “Sure thing Mr. Burke!” grinned Molly as the last of the fiery bloom settled into smoke. It was eliminating competition. And they’d attempted corporate espionage; hey, fair was fair.
Those Stahls, she thought, really shouldn’t have tried to steal Molly’s cookie recipes.
