GHOSTOFTHERING’S RECOMMENDED BLOGS !
@the-bringer-of-chaos is a very dear friend of mine, and a blog that has brought out some of the best in my own muse. I love writing with you, I’m always excited about our threads, and the day doesn’t feel quite complete without us talking at least once. As one of the few serious Malik Ishtar blogs around, Cyn more than makes up for the scarcity with an incredible portrayal.

You came up from anesthesia like a diver out of air Surprised to be alive, startled I was there It's been a long time, and I've got no axe to grind with you But goddamn it, man, this hatchet Won't stay buried without some sign from you, I don't quite come in peace, but times like these ask us to set aside old grudges Duty calls, I heed, but I don't love it
The night nurse leaves, just you and me, And you give me a look to freeze gasoline I don't believe that you're reformed, or you're redeemed
If they ask me, I'll deny it But I remember what you did While it's true you were a young man, then I was just a kid One of us was lying, both of us half-damned One of us the lion, and one the lamb
You've got a way with words, you got away with murder But now our roles reverse and your table's turning now
Too weak to lift a spoon, I fed you, shaved you when your hands were shaking Dosed you like they told me, never more Lord, the demands you're making- Help the monster on two feet, walk him down the hall, repeat And when he's strong enough to stand alone, you'll notice what big teeth But blood is blood and what's done is done Yeah, blood is blood and its burden is a beast
You lie expressionless, face set like the Old Testament Silence always your best defense I bet you guess I came to settle debts
They tell me you'll get better, I don't know what to say Cause they could sew your hands together, but they can't make you pray
But now you're careful, now you're good But do I scare you like I should? Now you're careful, now you're good But I still scare you and I should

The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy
You are a brick tied to me that’s dragging me downStrike a match and I’ll burn you to the groundWe can take the world back from the heart-attackedOne maniac at a time we will take it backYou know time crawls on when you’re waiting for the song to startSo dance alone to the beat of your heart
Hey young bloodDoesn’t it feel like our time is running out?I’m gonna change you like a remixThen I’ll raise you like a phoenixWearing our vintage miseryNo, I think it looked a little better on meI’m gonna change you like a remixThen I’ll raise you like a phoenix
Brave - Sara Bareilles
You can be amazingYou can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drugYou can be the outcastOr be the backlash of somebody’s lack of loveNothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words doWhen they settle ‘neath your skinKept on the inside and no sunlightSometimes a shadow wins
Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you liveMaybe one of these days you can let the light inAnd since your history of silenceWon’t do you any good,Did you think it would?Let your words be anything but emptyWhy don’t you tell them the truth?
For Your Entertainment - Adam Lambert
No escaping when I startOnce I’m in I own your heartOh, do you know what you got into? Can you handle what I’m bout to do?Cause it’s about to get rough for youOh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweetThought an angel swept you off ya feetBut I’m about to turn up the heatI’m here for your entertainment
It’s alright, you’ll be fineBaby, I’m in controlTake the pain, take the pleasureI’m the master of bothClose your eyes, not your mindLet me into your soul
+1
Ends in the Ocean / Oh Life - Avalanche City
Oh my soul can fly, its journeys are far and wideBut my heart is a weight for the burdens are greatAnd the journey’s too far for meBut oh- my soul it came homeWith tales of a way that I’ll escapeBut my heart it was weak and I could not speakOf how much I longed to be
Oh my heart had resignedTo forfeit the rest of my lifeBut my soul had a plan to walk hand in handSo back it came for meNow all that I see is life breaking freeSo long captivity for me

He’d given Malik a hangover. Really, he should have felt sorry, but seeing Malik stumble - dazed, teeth showing, face a heated pool of anger - into the kitchen brought only satisfaction. Sliding into Malik’s space, letting their hips brush, Bakura pressed a coffee into Malik’s hand with a pleased grin.
“Morning,” he said brightly. “You look like you got hit by a car-” He tilted an eyebrow at Malik. There was the question of last night. That Malik didn’t remember was unlikely, after-all, he’d been sober enough to call his sister.
Then the question was one of regret; whether it existed or not. Bakura had spent thousands of years without regrets, and he had no intention of ever starting. Malik could regret if he liked; Malik was full of them. His father, his brother, himself, the partnership he’d made with Bakura– He leaned forward, kissed Malik on the mouth with a smile.
Pulled back, feeling something catch in his throat, smile faltering. Bakura withdrew, retreating to his side of the kitchen, and his coffee. This meant something, sure, for now, in the moment, but- the moment would end, and there was the shade of regret startling up his spine.
