Crowsnest review

Crowsnest is a found footage horror movie that came out in 2012.  The plot can be recited basically from heart without ever seeing it. Everybody, all at once A group of friends go out into the woods to party/have a weekend off but on the way start getting killed off by people for no reason until one girl and one guy are left until the 'twist' at the end.  Exactly.  You've already seen this movie before, you know if you'll like it or not.  Now go away, I need to erase it from my history.  This has been thebroodingangel.

House at the End of the Street review

Wow. The movie I just saw was...horrendous.  I couldn't wait for that to end.  It was almost painful to watch.  The characters had no redeeming qualities, were inexcusably stupid, and the plot was just pointless. That's an hour and a half I'll never get back. Stay away from this filth. This has been thebroodingangel, warning you.

Red State review

Red State is a 2011 movie based on a cult-like church not unlike the Westborough Baptist Church.  The story opens with three boys responding to a craigslist-type internet ad for a woman wanting an orgy.  They go, and it turns out she's a member of the Five Points Church, the culty one.  After this comes the actual plot, but that's enough of a synopsis. I rather enjoyed this movie, it comes in at just under half an hour, and I feel it was time well spent. Go check it out, it's available on Netflix. This has been thebroodingangel.

Dark House review

Dark House is a 2009 movie about a group of college acting students taking part in a washed up horror director's haunted house, a bit like a certain Halloween movie I don't like talking about.  So this house has state of the art hologram systems to add to the scares.  Then a virus gets into the system, which means the holograms turn solid and kill people.  This crap goes on for a while until everyone's dead but one, and that's when the story starts to matter a bit.  I don't like spoilers, so I'll leave that there.  So, end result time.  The story has been done before, the deaths are stupid, the writer doesn't know a thing about computers, and the ending twist is...not good. All in all, you're not missing anything. Give it a pass unless you're desperate. This has been thebroodingangel.

Dead End review

So Dead End is a 2003 horror movie about a family going to another family member's house for Christmas. The driver decides to take a different route, and the family is stalked by a...well it's not made explicitly clear. The ending throws a wrench in the idea that's been pushed on us throughout the rest of the movie. I don't want to give it away, because it actually is a decent movie.  It kept me interested, which is rather difficult to do with a horror movie made this side of the year 2000.  It's worth seeing at least once. After that there isn't much to it, as the ending sort of ruins any repeat viewings. Still, it's on Netflix, bit under an hour and a half long, worth checking out. This has been thebroodingangel.
