“You’re better off dating my brother.”
“Bad news, Joe. It’s meh. She won’t like me much.”

“Guess what I just bartered for!” Looking pleased, Moneybags pulled what appeared to be a slightly dented crystal ball from inside his coat, and set it on the counter with a small flourish. “It’s only cheap knock-off, but it’s just what I need to pull off a new scam.”
“Heh heh, posing as a fortune teller, I’m going to warn customers they’ve been ‘cursed’ by a bad luck spell. I’ll conveniently have the ‘cure-all potion’ on hand, which I’ll then offer to sell at a huge markup.”
Ew, how could you date a spider girl? Spiders are so creepy, and gross.
“Okay, first of all, she’s a fluffsprite, not a spider. Secondly, I’ve decided that the best way to deal with any rude comments like yours is to start charging for them. You now owe me 50 gems.”
"I heard that it's almost Christmas, Richard, and I have a gift for you, huhuhu...." Tabbi smiled coyly as she held something small behind her back.

“I don’t usually care for Christmas, but I certainly won’t say ‘no’ to an early present. I can’t wait to see what it is!”
“But hold on. Since you’re giving me something early, I think it’s only fair if I do the same. I’ll be right back.” Moneybags left the room, reappearing a short while later holding what appeared to be a good-sized item behind his back.
This was the first time in… well, he couldn’t remember, truthfully…in a very long time that he’d bothered to buy a nice present for someone. Unfortunately, that meant his present wrapping skills left a lot to be desired. It looked more like someone had tried following the instructions from an origami book, only for the wrong origami design. Feeling slightly embarrassed as he offered Tabbi the gift, he hoped she’d be able to overlook that. Along with the small tears his nonretractable claws had left in the paper.
Once she opened the box, Tabbi would find a blue-feathered dreamcatcher with small, star shaped beads in the webbing. “I hope you like it. Admittedly, I’m not sure how effective dreamcatcher enchantments are, but I thought it might help you sleep better.”

“Did you say three days?” he repeated, giving Tabbi a concerned look from across the counter. Oh dear. Well, no wonder she looked so dead on her feet this morning. And yet here she was still trying to peddle wares. As much as he had to admire her dedication to making a profit, he also didn’t want to see her overwork herself.
“Why don’t you let Ichik and I manage the shop while you go get some rest? You shouldn’t try to push yourself so hard.”
