Lets Get Back to It...
Well I have lots of new news kids... First, let me start by saying I know I've been posting a little less these days and I haven't been doing many talks or making any commentary on things, BUT IM BAAAAACK. Try and stop me ; ) So first of all, I'm excited to say that I have started a new job! I'm sad to have left my old family at IC, but I decided I wanted to be fully immersed in the creative field and focus on enhancing my design skills. It was time to make a change and I'm super pumped about my new position with West Elm's Visual Team! More to come here... So secondly...I started taking a furniture design class at Parsons. Wooooot! This class kicks my butt, but I think that's great. Ill be sharing different phases of designs and completed projects as I go. Lastly and most importantly...I want to get back to good design on here. I've posted a few things here and there, but I want to have dedicated talks, color story ideas, sketches I'm working on, designers to watch and focus on what inspires me and hopefully you. I'll be opening a studio space this spring and am working on a few things I think you guys will really like : ) (I'm really excited to show you the studio hunt...hunting for space in nyc is a damn trip...those will be some fun posts haha) So we ready to get back to it? Then let's do it to it.

These are a few things I've been wanting to post lately...a few inspirational room pieces.
I like that they all focus on elements of a room rather then the entire design of a room.

I love that the collage seems happhazard but was actually organized very well. The different size frames and the large vertical frames really make the space.
The Bar Cart Final Product!
I know this tutorial has taken a while to post, but I wanted to set you guys up with a couple videos.
The final product turned out SO well. I could not be more pleased!! Thanks to my special guest Michelle Johnson for helping me create my new Mad Men inspired Bar Cart!
As always, let us know if there are other tutorials, projects, furniture ideas, etc. that you want to see and we will put them up there!

Have a happy Sunday!
Step 1 after demolition: Spray each of the shelves in the same direction. Start your spray off the shelf and continue the stream across the shelf. This will prevent the big "blotchy" spots that happen when you spray in bursts. This will take MULTIPLE rounds, no worries there are videos throughout each step to give you an idea of what it should look like.

Michelle and I used hammers, our feet, PAM cooking spray, and finally we were so mad at this damn bar cart that we thought...lets just "beat the crap out of it...I mean, it's not like it's going to break and if the cart gets ruined, well we found it in the trash so who cares!"
This is us letting our anger out on the cart. Enjoy...
