La peli fue financiada independientemente y haciendo un gran esfuerzo por parte del creador para que fuera una película realmente africana y sin influencias atadas a las financiaciones extranjeras. La peli esta llena de imágenes mágicas, con un mundo que va más allá de lo terrenal. En España puedes alquilarla online en Vimeo On Demand (Aún no tiene subtítulos en castellano).

THE BURIAL OF KOJO*** Written and directed by Blitz Bazawule @blitzambassador Distributed by  @arraynow The first feature film of the Ghanaian director is a visually stunning film with a language and a narrative that has been many times theorised about when speaking of a truly African cinema that can truthfully represents the world and imaginary of the cultures of the continent. The film was independently financed through crowdfunding. The director made a great effort to make an African production without the influences inevitably linked to foreign financing. The film is full of magic imagery and creates a world that goes beyond the earthly. In Spain, you can find it on Vimeo On Demand (with no spinach subtitles yet).

Honestly, this has been my most important work. Without it I wouldn't have had the courage to make @TheBurialOfKojo. Shot it Bahia, Brooklyn and Accra under challenging circumstances, I did it because I was tired of not seeing African Spirituality represented beautifully. How do we convince our children their Ancestors really walk with them when they have never seen beautiful images that reinforce that. I know we have varied beliefs and that's ok. But I also know that what becomes mainstream beliefs/religions are carefully sanctioned and sanitized through images and stories. Until we center images and stories that reflect us, we'll always be strutting around in borrowed robes...and that's a shame, for a people so beautiful.
