Wow, Robert certainly didn't sugar coat anything in France this weekend, did he? I'm both impressed and surprised at what he said. What do you make of his comments? Especially his admitting this is his last season on the show?
I have absolutely loved the comments I’ve seen reported (I haven’t seen any video yet)
Though, honestly it’s not remotely surprising that he decided to sign on for one more year and that’s it.
I was particularly delighted with his comment about how the show is unrelentingly sad. Yes, yes it is, thank you for saying that! The rest of the cast always goes around regurgitating A&E’s talking points about how it’s a show about hope.
No, it’s a show about heartbreak and angst with very little reprieve from it. Maybe if we got a breather once in awhile it wouldn’t be so hard to watch at times!
Also thought he was spot on in his assessment (at least from what I’ve read) on why viewers left: too many inconsistencies, loose threads and unsatisfying endings. Um... DING, DING, DING!
While I would never advise any of the other cast to say these things, It’s so refreshing to hear one of them take aim at the issues that have plagued the storytelling.
As usual, I’m impressed with his realistic view of Rumple. He is a terrible father and he probably doesn’t deserve a happy ending. Thank you, Robert.
