Maybe he meant “if you make art JUST for the sake of making money”, as in you don’t actually have a passion for doing it at all, you’re just interested in the cash.
that is entirely possible
but it's such a prevalent way of thinking, among people who can afford it
so.. blughh

I was really fucking surprised by THAT scene because ATLA pretty much had an A+ in that department. Da fuq is going on???
I think AtLA had a few really minor examples, and I definitely recall Iroh perving on Jun, but it was never as problematic, and then the show generally did an OUTSTANDING job with the ladies, so it didn't seem to matter as much (at least to me). That scene in tonight's ep was just beyond the fucking pale.

UGHHHHHHHH FUCK OFF
The Emperor, The Devil, The Star, and Judgement.
The Emperor
You know, not really? Not anything unique or particularly interesting, anyway. I think the closest thing we have (and the longest-running) is going to Telluride every Labor Day to work at the Telluride Film Festival. While my mother was alive, for a long time, we also had a big tenpura dinner for Christmas, instead of making a traditional Christmas dinner, but that's really about it. My mother cut ties with most of her family when I was a child, so that meant we ditched just about any traditions she had from her family, and my father has never been one for traditions or celebrations. Now that I'm an adult I'd like to start some of my own, but without much of a family it feels a bit futile.
I answered The Devil and The Star already!
Judgement
Many, many times.
Oh, you wanted me to elaborate?
Well, I think the times I've been most ashamed of myself were when I could have acted in some way to protect someone else or to fight the status quo and I didn't. I think there are plenty of shitty things I've actually done, but at least they were actions, not inaction.
