Why Apple Needs To Own A Sports Team
I know, it’s a bit much to suggest Apple needing to own its own franchise but don’t you think it would be amazing? The venue alone would be the greatest technologically advanced sports venue in the world.
There is precedent set for companies to own sports franchises. The Chicago Tribune owned the Cubs for a number of years and Disney owned the Anaheim Angels (now the LA Angels of Anaheim) and the Anaheim Ducks. I’m sure they had high hopes for turning a franchise into an all inclusive entertainment sports experience. The Tribune just cared about making the Cubs a money making machine, which it did. What if a tech company like Apple decided to buy an NFL team? Maybe not NFL. They have a bunch of issues I’m sure Apple doesn’t want included in their brand.
In a dream scenario, Apple could build it’s own stadium setup with its own technology featuring the latest and greatest. They would be able to connect with both the team fan-base and its own fan-base of techies. They could make it easier to order food from their seats using their iPhone. The players locker room would be setup with state of the art technology. Just a few things I can think of at this time.
And most importantly, Apple would be able to continue its selling and marketing blitz in a way they haven’t quite done before (not that they need it).

Are You Going to Watch The World Series?
This year, MLB was hoping for at least one of the Los Angeles teams to be playing in the World Series. Instead, we’re getting a dominant playoff team with the Giants and a team that hasn’t been to the playoffs since they won it all (who seem more dominating than ever).
I think MLB should embrace a series like this and take advantage of the storyline. A championship series without the big cities can still make for an entertaining outcome. Think about what you love about the game and use that while you watch this series. This will be a fun series to watch and hopefully we get to see some late game dramatics. So, my question is, who do you want to win?
