We try to protect our lives, our money, our corporations and even our country. It gives us a sense of security and safety which are difficult to articulate to others. Often we can only measure the consequences of its absence making security a distress purchase only, rather than a positive and integrated force for good. As always we can measure negative impact more easily than positive impact. This makes us reluctant to adopt such measures into our lives, prefering to avoid such black thoughts or admit to our vulnerability. We can now value the security and integrity of our relationships and institutions, allowing us to appreciate them more, and to work harder to keep them.
