A Stranger in the Storybook | @thecetragirl
"Are you ready to depart for your mission, Number XIII?"
Blue eyes scanned a well-read tome once again, their confusion not disappointing even a bit as they traveled back up to the golden eyes of the man that held it. Of course it had been explained to him that the Organization had recently procured the book that supposedly held an entire world, but as far as exploring went, Roxas wasn't sure how he was expected to do so.
Regardless of his confusion, the blonde nodded to his superior and followed him to a table nearby where the blue-haired man set the book down on the table. He motioned to the blonde to open it before returning to his post.
Reluctantly, Roxas sat on the couch and slipped one finger under the faded cover. He slowly flipped it open, blinking hard as the book emitted a soft but bright light that enveloped him. He felt strange all over, with the odd sensation that words other than his were tickling his mind and pulling him away from where he was.
When he opened his eyes again, he was met with a landscape of inked lines on browning paper. It was like standing on a large map, only, it felt more like a hallway than a map. Curious and shocked, the boy made his way to a marked field, intending to have a look. As he neared, the light enveloped him again and this time deposited him in a green field dotted with tiny pastel flowers. Above him, the sky was blue, and around him, the scenery stretched on until it met a line of trees and pathways.
Roxas had been to many a strange world, but normally via the Corridors of Darkness. He didn't even wonder where these worlds were contained and never fathomed travel by book. Was that why Zexion was always with his nose in a large tome? Regardless, the Nobody was a bit disoriented and decided that he could take a moment to collect himself before exploring the new world for recon. With a heavy sigh he lay back against the soft grass and trained his eyes on the cottony clouds being pulled along by the pleasant breeze.
