Of every change that could have come in to Keiko's life alongside Vault 4's newest arrivals, never would she have expected it be either of them taking such a liking to her. Yet, it seemed, one had. Lucy had, at times, become Keiko's near-shadow in recent days. It was - odd, by one measure, being so noticed by someone new in a manner that wasn't hostile - yet also surprisingly pleasant, when Lucy wasn't digging in her heels too far into the familiar to listen.
Following Keiko around wasn't all Lucy had been doing, though. She'd been pushing and prying, further and further, into places Benjamin and Birdie did not want her to go. Unstoppable force, meet immovable object, and there was only so much Keiko could do about any of it. So many of the answers Lucy wanted weren't hers to give.
There was one thing that she could still do, though - to show Lucy she trusted this place, now that Lucy had managed to earn hers first. So when there was a lull in their conversation at the dinner table, Keiko stood, emptied tray in both hands, and finally cut in: "Lucy, will you come with me? There's something I want you to see." // @thechipsaredown + plotted starter!
