Hello! I am sorry this took a moment- my morning job has taken a bit out of my schedule! Massive DGS 2 spoilers.
12. saying goodbye over and over because they keep forgetting things and coming back
It's a perfect day to paint. With another dab of bright blue paint on her brush, she continues to create. Olive strokes the canvas with great caution, hoping the paint won't cover the detailed grass she spent hours on yesterday.
It’s almost complete and she doesn’t want to risk even the tiniest of mistakes.
Behind her is her finance, Duncan, who rustling through his belongings to get ready for the day ahead. He scrambles around the apartment, stuffing his items in a bag.
Then, he leaves without a word.
Though it does disappoint her a bit, he must be really late if he forget to say goodbye to Olive.
She's about to turn back on her stool when a red book catches her eye. On the nightstand is his textbook, something he'll definitely need for today.
If she can get him on time-
He swings the door open with an exhale, eying his textbook with a relieved look on his face. “Oh, I was hoping it was here. The professor would have been furious if I forgot it again."
"He sure would have." Olive shakes her head. That professor's always been a bit rough on Duncan. "Do you have everything else?"
Duncan taps his chin, then gives a firm nod before walking in and grabbing said book. “I think so. I gotta get going or I’ll be late.”
“Alright, I’ll see you tonight.” Olive offers a smile as her future husband closes the door with a wave.
Olive focuses back on her painting, trying to see if there’s anything else she can get to before she leaves it to dry. It’s almost complete and will be the perfect centerpiece for their new home once they wed.
With their wedding day just around the corner, she can only hope it will be done on time. Duncan thinks this piece is for a client, but little does he know that this is her wedding gift to him. The perfect way to show her devotion and love to someone she cherishes.
The door breaks her thoughts as she gasps, letting go of the paintbrush in shock. When she grips it, she glances at the painting. Thankfully, she had just gotten the brush's excess paint on her hands and not on the masterpiece itself.
Though she did not enjoy being startled so early. She exhales to turn to see Duncan, panting in place.
“What is it?” Olive tilts her head in confusion.
“I’m sorry I forgot one last thing.” Duncan steps into the apartment, leaning in and kissing Olive’s cheek. Even through her slight frustration, a smile grows on her lips through a soft giggle. Duncan sighs again. “Okay, now I got everything. See you tonight!”
Olive beams as Duncan closes the door with a hum and dreamy sigh.
How can everything be so perfect for her? She turns back towards the painting, intent on finishing the mural before the date arrives, even if it takes her all day.
