where i'm from, internships are just a college thing. i don't know any high schoolers that have them. but then, i live in a part of the country with a LOT of college students and internships that require a college student's skillset/knowledge... so that could be part of it! my city revolves around college students interning at important places and there's not much space for teenagers there.
ahh i live in portland so i’m honestly not sure what the internship opportunities are like ? there’s a bunch of businesses but i’m not sure if they’d accept me as an intern hahah x

EA acceptance rates are much, much higher than RD acceptance rates so I don't see how it could be a bad idea! The only positive of applying regular is that they usually get to take into account your midyear senior grades and that might help you, BUT the boost early action gives you (at most schools) more than makes up for that.
ohh this is really helpful. But I’ve also heard that EA acceptance rates are much higher because of how impressive the candidates are? I guess I’m worried that my app will look especially average in comparison to some of the amazing apps that will undoubtedly be in EA

I almost always like the books better because I like directing the story myself, but sometimes, the movies give me a better appreciation for the books.
My favorite documentary is The Invisible War (it made me really emotional, but 10/10 would recommend)
The most important thing I’ve ever heard from a teacher was my physics teacher last year, who told me that I was at a crossroad and that I had the power to make a decision that could either help me become the person I wanted to be, or prevent me from ever becoming that person.

Sometimes I complain about how much smothering people do here, but deep down, I really do love the Southern vibe here - the hospitality and the manners. They make me feel the weird fuzzies and I think I would’ve been a different person had I not been raised the way I was. The worst is definitely between the conservative jackasses here and the heat, but you’ll probably hear me verbally complain about the heat more. I’m a total bitch about it and I hate summer. This past year, I’ve grown to cherish my small town in particular and the fact that the people here are fiercely proud of it and everything they’ve accomplished.
