002, Alicia Florrick, Casey McCall, Dan Rydell

Alicia Florrick: (also for itsaliciatime)

How I feel about this character: She’s my favorite fictional character ever, without a doubt. She’s complex and wonderful and I just can’t get enough of her story. I’m so invested in her,  and I identify with her a lot, so my feelings towards Alicia are a bit of a mess. There’s a level on which I want nothing but the best for her, a level on which I aspire to be like (parts of) her, a level on which I worry I’ll become like (parts of) her, and a level on which I want to see her fail/struggle/make mistakes/reveal her flaws because I think it’d be compelling. My feelings towards Alicia are mixture of love for, identification with, and investment in the character (flaws, bad decisions, and all), and I’m not sure how (or if) I manage to separate those three things. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: No one and everyone, simultaneously. I’ll ship her with anyone as long as the relationship doesn’t strike me as unhealthy and she seems to want it. Basically: Alicia/happiness, and it’s up to her who, if anyone, gets to embody happiness for her.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Alicia and season 1/2 Kalinda. 

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think Alicia was, with several notable exceptions, well-written in season 6. Season six has many flaws and there are elements of it I would’ve loved to see the writers push more, but as a whole, I think it does some really ambitious, great things for Alicia’s development.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I always want to see more of Alicia with her family. The college admissions process for Zach. Alicia and Grace reacting to Zach being out of the apartment. Phone calls with Veronica and Owen. Scenes with Peter consistently, not just when needed for plot. Things like that. Really, what I want more of is the everyday, whether that’s household chores (riveting television, I know), parenting, or appearing as First Lady of Illinois. (There should be references, at least, to her First Lady duties.) 

my OTP: Alicia/happiness, Alicia/wine, Alicia/vibrator

my cross over ship: I don’t have one, but that’s probably because I’m weird about shipping.

a headcanon fact: As theflorrickbrand said, that Alicia had a close relationship with her father (and is a lot like him, but I think that part is canon). I have a lot of little Alicia headcanons that feel so right I forget they’re headcanons. Another big one is that I think Alicia’s struggled with anxiety at some point in her life (probably still does; just knows how to manage it). 

Casey McCall:

How I feel about this character: Like I really, really want to rewatch Sports Night now.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: DAN AND CASEY DAN AND CASEY DAN AND CASEY

My unpopular opinion about this character: I am not even sure what an unpopular opinion about SN is. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: More seasons?? NO DANA DATING PLAN??????

How I feel about this character: Possibly the only fictional character I’ve ever had a crush on??? And I don’t even know if I still do; I’ve been kinda dreading rewatching SN now that the lines and events are familiar and I can see Sorkin’s problems with writing romantic relationships more clearly (like I’m guessing Dan and Rebecca would not play so well if I rewatched?).
