Dybbuk || The Unborn Verse || TheDaggeredVampire
She sat on the couch in the living room, looking at the fireplace. Her eyes fixated on each brick as she thought about the last few months and the transpiring events. The nightmares, the visions, her eyes becoming tinted with blue though naturally brown… among other things. She did not know how to handle it. However, the thing she could not cope with most… was this pregnancy. Like her and her never-born brother, Ziva David was carrying twins. Though, these twins were unlike any other.
Not long ago, Ziva had met the woman whom claimed to be her grandmother. She had warned her of something the Israeli thought was merely Jewish mythology. A dybbuk. She was not unfamiliar with it, or the story behind it. But, part of her just could not let go of the disbelief. Earlier that day, she had visited the old woman, told her of the discovery. It was then when she was told of the malicious being. Told about the mirrors, she contemplated breaking them as instructed, wrapping her left hand around the Hand of Miriam Star of David which dangled around her neck.
Looking down at her abdomen, Ziva frowned as her left hand found her flat stomach. Choking back tears, she licked her dry lips before standing to her feet. She often wondered why she had so many mirrors in this home. Swallowing again, she went out into the garage, and grabbed a large hammer her older half brother left behind. Taking it into the house, the foreigner broke every mirror as instructed and moments after tossing the pieces into the burning fireplace, there was a knock on the door. She had no idea that it would be Davina. Ziva scuffled to the door, not really in the mood for company.
A once lively and vibrant face was now tired and dull, this dybbuk changing her already… from within. Her eyes were getting worse by the day, now one almost entirely blue. “Rebekah,” Ziva murmured in response to the sight of the Original vampire. “I was not expecting you.”
