When you make it an acronym, it looks pretty aggressive. My random act of kindness occurred last week, but I feel like it’s close enough to count. A woman’s car was broken down on a major road. There was steam coming out of the hood and she looked frazzled. I jumped out of the car (much to the dismay of my fiancee) and ran over to help her push it off the road. When I arrived, she didn’t speak English, so we communicated through some purposeful charades. I got her to turn the heater on, put the car in neutral and steer as I pushed. Another kindly soul pitched in and soon the car (and driver) were safely off the road. I left her to call a tow truck and addressed the 4 missed calls by my, now very angry, fiancee. She looped back and picked me up, but I was given the silent treatment all the way home. Sometimes kindness has unintended effects: :(
Day 71 - Digital Storytelling and The Daily Create
I found a new cool thing: an online course, ds106. From their website:
Digital Storytelling (also affectionately known as ds106) is an open, online course that happens at various times throughout the year at the University of Mary Washington… but you can join in whenever you like and leave whenever you need. This course is free to anyone who wants to take it, and the only requirements are a real computer, a hardy internet connection, preferably a domain of your own and some commodity web hosting, and all the creativity you can muster.
This might win over my CS50 goals because they have this thing called The Daily Create which is basically a short, creative daily assignment. Such good inspiration for this website!
