Laslow is struck by Celica’s beauty and the thought occurs to him that he should tell her this, make her feels special, maybe ask her to tea after the fight-- WOOPS! He zones back in just in time to not get knocked to the ground.
LASLOW: 7 strike v. 7 defense
The two lock swords and Laslow does actually tell Celica that he thinks her footwork is superb. He then turns and practically dancing back to regain some ground, but. . .
CELICA: NAT 20 STRIKE v. 7 defense
Celica gives him no quarter, pursuing and closing the gap. She lunges with two fast strikes and hits Laslow for double points.
“They’re so nimble! I’m very impressed, Chrom, Lady Celica is excelling so far.”
"Inig- Laslow, keep your eyes on her blade and not her gender. Maybe then you'll see her switch target areas in time."

Celica draws in close again and Laslow attempts to dodge. But his dancer’s feet aren’t enough to avoid not one, but two strikes by Celica, who against scores double on him. Somehow, Laslow doesn’t see too upset, he almost seems to be enjoying the loss, as he’s quite happy for the beautiful young lady taking the prize.
