The Dark Lady and the Viper
The former rogue had been in no fit state to add to the Dark Lady's singular statement, a great deal of her mind still lost in the euphoric bliss of what she'd just done. But as Kat had departed, so too did the Viper. Anyone who could cheerfully give her permission to -do- such things, and not so much as bat an eyelash at the result?
Well, it was likely worth finding out what she had in store next. The walk through the misted, dense forest sobered Sharrai somewhat. Her senses, and her wits more fully returning to her. With them came.. questions.
The grounds of the manor brought her a few more, though this was a theater she better understood. Guards, walls, patrol patterns. They were things that fit tidily within the fel elf's mind, even now.
She shook her head, exhaling slowly as she listened to the Dark Lady speak those last words, her mind's eye turning towards the massive, looming doorway She could not help the wry little smile that spread across her lips.
"There's precious little of anything left for me to fear, anymore." She exhaled slowly, all but gliding up the steps and into the manor proper. She took in the spectacle silently, her lower fangs gnawing gently at her upper lip. She was impressed, most certainly, though for the moment it was the walking enigma that stood behind her, that held her true fascination.
"I want.. answers. I crave them, Lady Darkheart. How have you managed to hide yourself so thoroughly? I assume that, whatever you are, there are those who would draw issue with it. Indeed.. -what- are you?" Those words rang like the peals of tainted, desecrated little bells in the great entryway of Shadowmanse.
Her voice grew quieter, colder. Though there was still that rapturous, awestruck undertone to them, that same fascination. "Why are you offering to help me?"
