I Just finished The Dead Ring. The Book is all about Aram
And that was boring.
I don’t get Bokenkamp and Eisendrath. Seriously, either they are the most greed driven writers in Hollywood, or the most foolish, I can no longer tell.
For Red fans: I have no idea what to make of this book it’s plot driven. At least with The BeeKeeper you had story movement, character interaction DEMBE HAD LINES….
In this: Aram woke, Aram told. Aram showed, Aram knew. Aram waited. Aram could tell. Aram assumed. Aram Aram Aram.
Now I’m hating Aram like I did Tom. Don’t turn beloved characters into roadblocks. Aram was over exposed. I get Eisendrath created this character, granted it speaks volumes why Aram gets so much exposure now. But it serves no purpose to story.
Ressler worried about Liz.
For 4 years.
Liz worried about Ressler. For 4 years.
Cooper mad as hell at Red. For 4 years.
Aram had more dialogue than Dembe.
Aram had more dialogue than Navabi.
Aram had more dialogue than Ressler.
The Wall character had more dialogue than Ressler.
As you can see, it’s not just about Tom. Writers can shout he’s gone from the story-but it never was just that it’s the story tier, and while Aram is an integral part of the Blacklist, he should not be lead, because nothing moves around him.
He serves purpose as supporting.
The writer was in everyone’s head but Cooper and Ressler, and Liz’ head was the procedural. The head hopping and the telling not showing was annoying! But I do not blame the writer at the keyboard. Normally, I would but in this case, he receives story from JE and JB. This was lazy, appalling. It was pure filler.
Plot driven format never works.
Yes Ressler finally got to speak to Liz, he was supposed to he’s the hero of the show, and male romantic lead to the heroine . “Take your shot.”
But without follow up, or closure there’s nothing gained to the story and that’s deliberate on the writers end like in season 1. If Keenler worked on a case, they had words about it at the end. But ever since Eisendrath changed the story placement everything is far too convoluted. The game playing with the audience is old.
I hold zero hope this show is going to improve or get back to the original story placement. Red/Liz/Ressler/Cooper/Aram/Samar/Dembe. Red/Liz/Ressler was my sole reason of tuning in.
Not Aram.
Not Tom.
Not Navabi
Red, Liz, and Ressler, period. In this book they hardly interacted. If Liz goes undercover from now on, have Ressler join her. Otherwise the story cannot lift itself off the ground.
And after 5 years, enough teasing. Enough milking. She freaked had he gone undercover. He freaked out throughout the story she went undercover. But no follow up. Move story or end it.
