Train Trouble
Adachi had been eyeing the man sitting across for him for quite a few minutes now. He was dressed very differently than Adachi was accustomed to, but it was somehow very fitting. He looked strong too, vaguely he wondered just how strong. As he introduced himself, Adachi smiled, “Ah. My name is Tohru Adachi.” He said as he extended his arm to accept the handshake. “Most people call me Adachi.” He said with a nod. He took a small note when Alvin mentioned shipping, that might be useful sometime in the future.
At the mention of where he was going, Adachi raised his eyebrow and chuckled. “Well, to be honest, I don’t really know. It’s like an adventure, you see? So I really can’t be late.” He said as he shrugged and scratched behind his head. That was mostly true, he was just going to enter the TV like usual and do some training. He wasn’t expecting to find himself in a different dimension at all. That included not knowing where he was or more importantly, how to get back home. But that wasn’t something he was going to share with a complete stranger. ”What about you? Anywhere in particular?”
Adachi would find his question about how strong partially answered — while Alvin's grip was firm and friendly, the muscles in his fingers and hand were substantial, and he had scars and heavy calluses that (if Adachi knew a thing or two about swordfighting) were the hallmarks of a swordsman.
"Oh? On vacation?" Tuned as Alvin was to the nuances of peoples' speech, that like stood out for him. "Or did you just manage to get lost?"
He flashed the other a grin. Apparently he was one for teasing, even of strangers he'd met only a minute ago. "Marksburg. Guess your adventure's taking you there, at least." Sure enough, if Adachi looked at the timetable, it was the next — and last — stop on the list. The accompanying map showed it as a border crossing with a long bridge that spanned a wide bay, connecting two continents. "I've got a couple things that need to be loaded onto boats, and then a deal to work in Xian Du."
Xian Du, on the other hand, was not on the map at all. The rail apparently terminated in Marksburg, though there was a sign about connecting ferry services to a number of other ports, and a small advertisement listing private wyverns for hire.
