I read #tomwolfe’s #theelectrickoolaidacidtest back in the early #90s I think, but I could only imagine the music described in that book. Now #kenkesey’s goofing off with @gratefuldead around #sanfrancisco in #1965 and #1966 is available on remastered #coloredvinyl. Couldn’t turn it down. in light of #TomWolfe’s passing, I’m compelled to relay an anecdote. standing in Kesey Square in Eugene, OR (the mythological burial site of the Furthur bus), a kid put this in my wrist. I was nervous it was soaked in LSD; alas it was not. #TheElectricKoolAidAcidTest changed my life as a young kid. such a window into pure, honest subculture. God bless you, Tom for preserving that moment in time forever. if you haven’t read that book I suggest you do so now. not much has changed & his insights are fantastic. it’s a sad day for the Hippie dream today as one of its historians has transitioned into another world. ✌️➕❤️ (at Kesey Square)
