Alex: “I make New Year’s resolutions but they are always unrealistic. I think the problem is that I don’t create space for things to come to terms naturally. This book fell into my lap and it’s exactly about that — the dulling of the senses and the things that get lost when you have everything that your fingers tips and don’t leave anything to chance. It’s funny that we’re talking about this book by on the last day of the year. It’s fortuitous really. We’re at a point in culture where we are growing up with technology but it’s kind of devaluing our everyday experiences. We lose simple, meaningful interactions. It’s like we opened Pandora’s box and now we don’t know what do to with it. I want to hit the reset button on my nerves in 2018. I hear a lot of people saying that the next year will be a big year. As a culture we want to refresh and we vow turn a new leaf. The question is if it’s a promise we can keep.” @aallaux #TheEndOfAbsence #MichaelHarris #NewYear / @theubc for #subwaybookreview #newyork 🗽🥂🎆💫 (at Classon Avenue)
