A troubled actor is trying to resuscitate his career when he lands the lead role of a priest in a supernatural horror film about an exorcism. As unsettling events unfold, his "lucky break" takes a dark turn. The director, aiming for authenticity, subjects the struggling actor to humiliating treatment, forcing him to confront past traumas and accelerating his decline. Witnessing his suffering, Anthony’s estranged daughter, Lee, turns to the film's priest advisor, Father Conor, for help. Has the pressure of making the film sent Anthony back to his old addictions, or has it opened a portal to something more sinister?

Los Angeles native Joshua Miller is an actor, writer and director. With his life partner Marc Fortin, he co-created the hit Netflix series Queen of the South and co-wrote and produced Sony's critically acclaimed The Final Girls. He made his acting debut at age eight in Halloween lll: Season of the Witch and was the lead in cult classics River's Edge and Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark. Additionally, Miller, while an undergrad at Yale, published his first novel, The Mao Game. He worked in journalism writing for such publications as Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire, and recently completed his soon to be published second novel, I'll Be Your Mirror.

Mark Fortin, born in Montreal, is a graduate of Emerson College and the ART Institute at Harvard University. He is currently at work on a true crime book set in 1980s Los Angeles and together with Joshua is developing The Diaries of Anaïs Nin with Pablo Larrain/Fabula pictures.

A new trailer has been released for The Exorcism, which is set to release June 7, 2024.

Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play.
