Say hi to Pearl! . Ever since the pandemic hit BC and my campus closed, I’ve had the great luxury of moving out of the cold, dark, smelly and crowded basement suite where I was living in Vancouver — to now live on an acreage out in the Fraser Valley. This together with my fiancé, our dog, almost 40 chickens, my father-in-law across the yard, random wild critters, and now also our new neighbours + my fiancé’s coworker; @roamlander, his wife @aliactionjackson plus their gorgeous dog Willow! ...And all this yet we’re still far from crowded. Haha I promise! .
Growing up only in cities in Sweden, with nature only as a getaway during my childhood, living on more or less a farm like this with our chickens and the huge garden is a transition I am still working on. I am so aware of and humbled by the luxury of fresh eggs and vegetables literally in your own backyard and I am so grateful for it, yet I struggle with being comfortable taking my space and moving in it freely... It is a work in progress.
